Introduction of E-Mail


E-Mail is also known as electronic mail. It is equivalent of sending a letter though the mail.Primary component of the Electronic Mail system is a post office , it is an area on the shared hard disk that is reserved for mail. This post office serves as the central message holder and has both "in" and "out" baskets for each user . To send a message a link is established between the sender's  "out "basket and the addressee's "in" basket.

The method for receiving mail depends on the sophistication of the system. When multitasking personal computers and workstation are used, mail can be delivered to users while they are working  on something else .Otherwise users have to interrogate their mailboxes (diskspace) in a central system or  file server.




👉 Communication network  is the backbone of electronic mail that connect remote terminals to a central system or a local area network that interconnects personal computers.  
Users can send mail to a single recipient or they can broadcast it to any number of selected users on the system.

How can you send E-MAIL

The Person you communicate with could be any other user on the Internet, some one using the same
computer system as you or someone on a computer system thousand of miles away. The email is transmitted between computer system, which exchange messages or pass them onto other sites according to certain Internet Protocol or rules for exchanging e-mail.

Example : Sending mails is similar to sending something by a postal service.

Steps of sending E-Mail are:-

1.Start an email program like " gmail , yahoo , rediffmail" etc.




2.Login in your account by giving Login Id & Password .

3.Click on Compose button , Now give the address of where to send the email.



4.Compose the message what you want  or if you want to attached any file click on attachment icon.

5.At the End Click Send Button on it .
